International Banja Luka Open GO Tournament Held

In honour of the International Confucius Institute Day, the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka and the Banja Luka GO Players organised the International Banja Luka Open GO Tournament, which was held on 13-14 September 2025.

The two-day tournament, held at the Faculty of Political Science, where the Confucius Institute is located, was attended by 30 players from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and France.

The first and second places were won by Drean-Guenaizia Benjamin and Mizessyn Francois from France, while the third prize went to Suc Timotej from Slovenia.

The Confucius Institutes celebrate this day worldwide every September by holding various events and activities to promote the Chinese culture and tradition, and the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka organises the Weiqi Course for its citizens, which is held every Saturday at 12 o’clock in the hall of the Faculty of Political Science.
